Film Review Short Shorts: The Godfather

THE GODFATHER (1972) by Francis Ford Coppola: 9/10

24 Words or Less: At first I was looking for greatness rather than feeling it, but by the end scene I felt I’d found it in Pacino’s transformation.

Best bit: Nino Rota’s score almost comedically arises every time someone dies–so quite often.

Film Review Short Shorts: Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS (2009) by Phil Lord & Chris Miller: 7.5/10

24 Words or Less: The design of Flint’s dad, the jelly palace, the mayor, the ice cream, and the overall concept, were all charming. I wasn’t gripped though.

Best Bit: ‘Look me in the eyes.’
