THE USUAL SUSPECTS (1995) dir. Bryan Singer: 4/10

24 Words or Less: Testosterone fuelled competition to see who can swear the most, smoke the most, and who has the biggest gun–in inverted commas.

Best bit: Half way through I realised I already knew the twist thanks to Channel 4’s 100 Best Actors. But to be honest I still wasn’t satisfied with the explanatory montage.

Also, answers on a postcard: Who, who, thought it would be a good idea to cast the great Pete Postlethwaite as Japanese? Even in fiction?
